Product review: Akasa - Fancontroller PRO

Why do we need fan controllers?
Well as computers are getting faster and hotter, they are also getting noisier with the increased number of fans required to keep everything cool. A few years ago computers could cope with only one fan with usually the PSU the only piece of hardware that needed a fan. The latest graphics cards, CPU's and Northbridge chips all have fans cooling the giant heatsinks underneath them. It doesn’t matter how hard your computer is working, the fans are always running at full speed. So when your computer is sitting idle the fans are still doing the same work as if the computer was under full load. Fan Controllers were introduced to enable the user to be able to control the speed of these fans. By controlling the speed you reduce the RPM of the fan's which in turn reduces the airflow (CFM) and noise (dBA).
